Our guest artists Trio Isimsiz are enjoying a busy period, with recent performances this spring in Wigmore Hall, Colston Hall and Leighton House.
They are looking forward to performing Korngold’s extraordinary Opus 1 work in the Peasmarsh Festival Sunday morning concert. Richard Wigmore writes that the work was written when Korngold was just 12 and that it is surely an astonishingly mature work for a composer of that age, even when compared to works by Mozart or Mendelssohn at a similar age. As the conductor Felix Weingartner wrote, ‘This is truly amazing! It is as if nature had amassed all of her musical gifts and laid them in the cradle of this extraordinary child.’
