Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival has released details of its local education work which will take place among the other events scheduled for June 25-28. Private composition workshops will take place in Peasmarsh and Beckley schools for year 3 and 4 students. Sam Glazer, who has led the Festival’s education programme for ten years, will direct the workshops, and the students will also be able to work with young professional pianist Erdem Misirlioglu.
After the workshops, the students will give a free public concert, including their works, performed by Trio Isimsiz this year’s group in residence. This will take place on Friday June 26 at 1pm at the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Peasmarsh. Tickets should be reserved via the box office.
The education sessions are funded by the Rudi Martinus van Dijk Foundation. Van Dijk was a composer who lived in Peasmarsh until his death a few years ago. His music has been played from time to time at the festival and Rudi himself is buried in Peasmarsh Churchyard. More information about the programme of events may be found on the festival website.
